Make your own Ayurvedic hair oil at home. YogiRemedy’s herbal hair oil mix is a blend of 18 dried herbs traditionally used in Indian hair-oiling rituals – just add your favourite carrier oil and let it infuse.

Because you choose the oil, you control exactly what goes on your scalp, with no artificial additives.

The 18 herbs

Vetiver root, screw tree pods, hibiscus flowers, curry leaves, fenugreek seeds, dried amla, senna flowers, black cumin seeds, rose petals, alkanet, white turmeric, Spanish cherry flower, babchi seeds, tulsi leaves, henna seeds, sweet flag, myrobalan and neem seeds.

What it does

• Makes a fragrant, herb-infused oil for scalp massage
• Traditionally used for long, thick, lustrous-looking hair
• Suitable for all hair types

How to use

1. Put the herbs in a clean glass jar.
2. Cover completely with a carrier oil such as coconut, sesame, castor or olive oil.
3. Close the lid and leave in a warm, dark place for 1–2 weeks, shaking now and then (or warm gently in a double boiler for a quicker infusion).
4. Strain and store the oil, then massage into the scalp before washing.
